Do you keep missing your targets when snipping? Have you checked your sniper rifle acuity? If it is ok, it could be your lack of stability when firing the shot. A large percentage of missed shots are due to the inability to keep in stable position of shooting rather than the error in the rifle.

So if you have ruled out other sources of error, then let us examine not only your personal errors but also what could contribute to it.

Unless you have fever, most bodily shakes are due to nervousness or poor control of breathing. You need to be able to control your breathing well enough to improve your snipping in airsoft. In the game of airsoft, breathing accounts not only for bodily movement, but also for betrayal to your enemy. Without controlling your breathing, you are definitely on the route to losing the game.

There are two things that you should never do when shooting using a sniper rifle: holding your breath while taking a shot and breathing while shooting. Let us seek to understand the effect of each of the two NEVER DO actions to our shooting.

  1. Never Hold Your Breath While Taking a Shot: when you hold your breath, you basically are putting more air into the lungs and giving pressure to your other body’s cavity muscles to work towards holding the breath in at the expense of shooting.
  2. Never Breath while shooting: this is a step that would hinder your accurate taking of a shot. The focus of the eye will not be the same as that of the rest of the body. The muscles that hold the ribcage and those that hold the hands will have to move in tandem and thereby miss the target of the eye.

The Solution:

  1. The Correct Procedure on Breathing and Correction: So you want to take the proper procedure, here are a few steps to consider. Ideally you should first aim at your target and then take a normal breath. A very deep breath at this moment will cause your lungs to have too much air and cause the barrel to dip and distract the focus. By now, you must have changed position or alignment away from the eye’s as the rest of the body strives to take control of the breathing process. After inhaling and still holding the focus upon the target, then exhale half of the breath and adjust ready for final shooting. The lung is left with just enough air that allows proper holding of position.
  2. Go to Gym: A more long term manner of controlling the breathing to improve your sniping in airsoft is by attending a gym or making short runs on daily basis. Because airsoft is a game, those who play it may only come out from the sedentary lifestyle over a weekend. If you are one of such people, then you have to struggle in controlling your breathing during the game. The best way is to have some exercise that would improve the heart rate at least twice in the course of the week.
